Keep the focus on the Climategate scandal
It is important to keep the focus on the Climategate scandal for the timebeing.
With the Copenhagen Climate Conference in full swing, we need to keep the pressure on, keep spreading the word to every corner at least for the next couple of weeks. If we fail to make enough noise about it, then the carbon taxes WILL be imposed. It is imperative that Obama of the USA, John Key of New Zealand, and other world leaders do not sign a binding agreement.
Key’s New Zealand government has already passed emmissions trading legislation here, but having that revoked should not be too difficult once the Copenhagen agreement is quashed.
Remember, the reason these agreements must not be signed is that they impose massive, unjustifiable taxes on regular people who are just seeking to live their lives peacefully.
Here in New Zealand, the majority of intelligent, thinking people have never consciously subscribed to the climate change theory, but many of us have been guilty of just going with the flow, finding it easier to let politicians decide our fate.
I must applaud the efforts of one of our top media personalities though. Mr Leighton Smith, a talkshow host on the Newstalk ZB radio station has always been vocal about his opposition to the global warming/climate change theory, at least the part that assigns blame to humankind as the root cause of any change. Smith is a well respected talk host who runs a well grounded, level headed programme that has possibly the highest listener audience of any daily radio programme in the country.
How ironic or coincidental that Al Gore has now cancelled his scheduled keynote speech at the Copenhagen Climate Conference. Very interesting…
