Family
We know that family matters…
A family can take many forms.
Family. Everybody needs one.
Mom, dad and the kids. Or maybe it’s just you and your cat; a solo parent with one child under five, or Grandma bringing up three grandchildren.
Your family might even be a group of friends who over time have become very close and developed strong relationships. The important thing is that a family is your central support structure. The one group where you know you are accepted and valued just for being yourself. You might be a square peg but if given a square hole, you can fit in without any problems.
So we deliver what family needs.
Whatever your type of family, learning to live together and dealing with everyday problems are among the most important things. When everyone understands how important each member of the family is, and learns to respect them all, then that family becomes a strong unit, and in-turn, becomes the central support structure for all the members in it. When relationships become strained and there is friction, then the family unit can become fractured, with little internal strength – and holding it together can become much more difficult. You can think of a family as a type of machine.
Learning to lubricate our relationships so there is little or no friction starts with understanding the shape of the parts involved.
If we make a round hole for a square peg then the fit will be wrong, and friction will stop things working smoothly. If we each provide a square hole for a square peg, a round hole for a round peg, and add a little lubricant (understanding and respect) then everyone has somewhere to fit and our family can work smoothly, with everyone knowing their place.
Of course, it pays to give everyone a little extra space so they can find their own size and shape. Learning and adapting to each other’s size and shape is the trick: wrong shape or no lubricant and you create friction; too much space and pieces can drop out of place.
When we get it right we create a well oiled machine where all the parts are snug and know their place, but noone is under pressure. Remove the lubricants and parts can seize up, creating pressure and tension at different points within the family machine.
The ability of a family to hold together when there is tension in some areas comes down to its ability to provide extra space between parts, especially when lubricants are running low. Give each other some space and the lubricant will begin to flow again. Leave any parts with too much space and no lubricant for too long and they will develop rust, which often calls for specialist treatment.
Here at the A1LifeStore, we don’t profess to know everything to do with your family, but we work hard to provide you with a lot of the tools you need to keep your family machine running smoothly. Remember to lubricate your relationships with respect and understanding, and keep the parts snug with daily hugs.
